Thanks go to larger 3/8" repair insert--use 3/8" X 5/16" stud---I think I have both--Jerry wassbiplane ---at---tds--.--net You might have enough material to tap a 3/8"X16tpi standard bolt size, in which case, the 3/8" X 5/16" stud would work by itself. See how a 5/16" drill fits in the hole----If it's not too loose, you might try running a 3/8" X 16 tpi tap into it---if the threads produced look fairly good--go for it!---my 3/8" X 5/16" studs are slightly oversized on the 3/8" end anyhow..( stud 1.7" overall, 0.6" 3/8" thd on one end--0.9" 5/16" x24tpi on the other, 0.2" 5/16" smooth in center.) I only have about 6 of them, but you can have one for a Dollar (U.S.) If the above doesn't fix it, I have some 3/8" helicoils---drill size 0.386" dia-----tap O.455" max thread dia. Hope this helps. Thanks... anyway, I search online dealer for timesert repair kit from Wurth.... It may fit in the hole and I will keep standard stud. It is a tread bushing... Hard to find parts... (kit and inserts) Known only for motorcycle engine sprak plug thread repair in Europe. By -- Volem rien foutre al païs! Philippe Vessaire Ò¿Ó¬ |
