Hi all
There is no Junkers 88 in N.Z. and the said Ju is in fact still sitting in the lake at an unknown location south of St.Petersburg . Aircraft is Ju88A-4 8785 , JK-260 of the Finnish AF which managed to bomb its own base before running out of fuel and ditching ;-0 . A now defunct Finnish Museum had plans to recover it ..but that is a long and ultimately unsuccessful story ! If you are interested in known survivors get yourself a copy of 'Classic Wings' Vol.8 No.2 regards Dave McDonald |
