Another question for the (European members of the) group - 1 attachment

Was looking on an obvious site and saw this picture.

Avoiding the obvious Q about circumstances, my real
question is one that might only come from Mr.OCD - me.

What's with the windmill that close to the location?

Could this be a form of a windsock? If so, how prevalent
is this across the pond? ...anyone?

and there does appear to be quite a few windmills especially around the
north end and between the 06/34 R/L runways, loads of farming still..

using street view, many appear to be in dis-repair


I don't know why I didn't think to GoogleEarth that
location.

I'll bet if some of those mills are in the right
locations, they could pump gravel! Hmmm... maybe
thats the answer to the "disrepair" look.
