Default Emergency Floor Lighting

Hello,

Please can someone tell me what happens during an emergency on an
aircraft, with regard to the lighting and sounds:

Do the Exit signs light up? Or are they always lit up during a flight?
Do the main cieling lights remain on?
Do the passenger lights (above the seats) remain on?
Are the emergency floor lights all one colour? or are they colour
coded in some way to guide passengers to the nearest exit?

Also, are there any alarms or announcements that are made during an
emergency?

Thanks in advance for any information you can provide.

I suspect he asks because he's writing a story or making a film... something
like that. OF course if his motives are nefarious, I doubt his answer (to "why
do you ask?") would say so.

We don't know each other either. What do you propose? A nation suspicious of
everyone is antithetical to the freedoms we value, at least in the US.
