This aircraft is identified as a "Spad" by the photographer. Photo made in
1966.

EA-1F (AD-5Q) was a four seat electronics countermeasures aircraft. The airplane in the picture is the Air Force version of the AD-5 which was designated A-1E in September 1962.

EA-1F (AD-5Q). All these beauties were called "Spads" in the olden days....

Only because I really like the AD / A1 airplanes and think it is fascinating how may derivatives were made from the basic airframe.

SPAD is a nickname for the Douglas AD/A-1 Skyraider, it stands for Single
Place Attack Douglas.

Always nice to see a picture of a Skyraider. Thanks.

Sadly but no photo....I saw a Skyraider at Leeward Point down in Guantanamo
back about '58 or '59 that was all white, had red crosses and place for four
litters inside the fuselage. Very distinctive and me with no camera.
Attached is one of me on the wing of a Spad belonging to VA-85.
