G meter by
Paul Anton
I have a accelerometer in my junk box. It's a 2-1/4 instrument, in good
condition seems to function. I hold it in my hand and it registers both
positive & negative G's. It is obviously British surplus it has the "broad
arrow" acceptance mark.
If anyone is interested e-mail me at N2273H at Hotmail...

New Rotax 912 Installation DVD Video by
[email protected]
You can think of this as a video version of the Rotax 912 installation
manual. An engine installation was documented, plumbed, wired, etc on
film. Might be useful for those unfamiliar with this aspect of
building! Details at:

Got Less than 200 Hours out of ECI's Cermichrome Cylinders by
jls
Now they're off for honing and new rings because three of them were pumping
oil into the combustion chambers. Or maybe they're just expensive junk.
Yesterday I called ECI in San Antonio. I got to talk to someone in the
shop and he said they had HAD some instructions about how to hone...

Light Sport Aircraft survey by
gilan
Do you own or are you planning to buy or build an aircraft that fits into
the Light Sport Aircraft rules? The airplane can be an older "factory"
certified airplane such as the Cub or Ercoupe, a new "factory" S-LSA or an
experimental that does or will comply with the LSA...

Hi chaps.
I'm rebuilding a Siai Marchetti with a mate down here in Australia, and
he wants to fit a turbo into it. According to the FAA website, K-Aero
have developed an STC for this, but we are having a hard time finding
this company. The few phone numbers we have either ring out or are...

gluing plastic on fiberglass by
Borislav Deianov
Hi,
What is a good glue to use to attach plastic parts to bare fiberglass?
This is to secure some cable clamps to the inside of a fiberglass
glider. I'd rather buy a tube than a can...
Thanks,
Boris

Online airplane directory by
Matt Whiting
Is anyone aware of an online, searchable database of production and kit
airplanes that will allow a search for only high-wing airplanes? I'm
aware of a few of the kits, but most likely not all. I'm looking at
something that would be a decent IFR cross-country machine yet have
decent short-field...

Painting the pilot side of a wood prop by
Michael Horowitz
There are sun angles such that on final I get a strobe effect from sun
reflected off the back of the wooden prop.
I have asked Sensinich if painting the back would cause them any
heartburn i.e. different rates of heat absorbtion, balance , etc.
NILHRD from them yet.
Anyone had any experience? - Mike

ICOM Headset Adaptor Plug by
Ron Wanttaja
I've picked up an ICOM IC-A5 handheld that I'm going to install into the
avionics panel of my Fly Baby as a semi-fixed installation. I picked up a
headset adaptor for it, but I don't like having those big clunky headset plugs
as intermediate connectors. I want to implement Jim Weir's "Karmic...

Only partly on topic by
LCT Paintball
I've got a project I'm building that I would like a little feedback on.
I'm building a scale model M1117 Guardian military vehicle. Although if I
build it properly it won't fly, I'm planning on using some composite
techniques that you guys are familiar with.
I have built a steel frame that will...

Is it true that Paul Poberenzy retook the presidency of EAA? That's
what zoom reported on his site. But I haven't found any info any place
else about it. Regardless of who reported it, if it's true, things
could be changing for the better at EAA. I know the Sport Aviation
magazine has gotten lousy...

Experimental planes at air shows? by

A-65 mechanic question by
Michael Horowitz
My A-65 had the lower half redone.
At operating temp. and at idle, the oil pressure is certainly below
15PSI and may be below 10.
I asked the company that did the work and they replied "we don't worry
about low pressure at idle".
Continental says a minimum of 10PSI.
I'll get my A&P to put a real...

Sport pilot question by
[email protected]
The Sport Pilot regs say that a Private Pilot acting as a Sport Pilot
must have a current Bi-annual flight review, but I cannot find anything
in the Sport Pilot regs. that states that a Sport Pilot must have a
flight review of any kind after he/she gets the initial license. If
that is the case,...
