ELT Antenna by
Gary
Hello;
I am in the finishing stages of building a LIVP and realize that I have
forgotten to allow for the elt. What antenna that would be
suitable to place in the tail area (where the top section is
fiberglass). Getting a ground plane will be difficult. Is there an

Certified into Homebuilt? by
Brad Mallard
I know this is a popular question, but I have not seen anyone actually
answer it. Can you make a Certified aircraft into a homebuilt? The only
response I have gotten is "yes, but with a lot of paperwork." Is there a
starting point?

1966 Cessna 172 Control Yokes --- What Alloy? by
jls
I need to treat them against corrosion.
The yokes are rough looking, corroded from the hands of white-knuckled
sweaty students, and the paint chipped so I stripped the paint off to
refinish them. The metal doesn't act like the usual aluminum alloy. When
exposed to a drop of phosphoric acid, it...

tuft testing by
keepitrunning
I was reading and saw a picture of a wing being tuft tested. I was
wondering, since I do not have a clue, how much difference the tape holding
the tufts would cause. In the picture it appears that 1/2 inch blue masking
tape was used and it was torn rather than cut. The tufts were spaced ...

Can Kit Prices be Negociated? by
Paul Dow
Sorry if this has been asked a hundred times before, but I'm new to this
group and didn't see it in existing messages.
I was wondering if most or all kit plane prices are fixed, or can they
be negociated like when purchasing a car?
As far as I can see, there are often special Show Prices for many...

Attn: Hydraulic experts - oil pressure relief fix? by
MikeremlaP
Okay, here's the deal. Lycoming O-320 in a Glasair. On full power, whether
oil is hot or cold, oil pressure will be higher than the regulator is set for.
(Shoots to top of yellow arc - 90 psi. I think most Lyc's do that.) Upon power
reduction, say turning downwind, you can "see" the ball pop off...

Screwing on the Cheap by

Battery is that long 9.6v jobbie. Very handy tool, especially with

It came off a Lycoming O-320 model E2A 150 HP engine. Was
working when removed.

is the problem/solution?
Since these automotive alternators are CW rotation (the cooling...
