I just got a letter last week from AOPA's Insurance department saying they
could not give me a competitive quote for insurance because my current agent, Falcon, used the same underwriter. "Matthew P. USAIG is the underwriter for what it's worth. I had been told by an agent that it's true, but in my experience it's not an accurate statement. |

You said it right. The Underwriter determines the qute, not the Agent. Agents only sell what underwriters formulate. Falcon and AOPA are Agents. HTH. z |

I have been with Falcon for 3+ years and the quote from AOPA was around $10 less, same underwriter. I didn't have to sign a release/waver anything. They just quoted me the prices and what was that. Of course I did have to sign paper when I actually renewed, but not for the quotes. I wonder why I got it and you didn't? Both had my N number? |

I have been with Falcon for over 5 years. AOPA sent me the forms to fill
out about a month before my policy expired with Falcon. I filled them out and sent them in just to see what kind of quote I'd get back. Last week I got the letter from AOPA saying that my current agent used the same underwriter as AOPA and they were unable to get a quote. Maybe it was because Falcon had just received a renewal quote from AIG and that set a flag to block any add'l quotes. As a side note, Falcon noticed that AIG's quote did not have my AOPA discount. They went back and got the discount for me. Mike "Matthew P.
