He had an engine in his plane that was due for an overhaul. I don't remember the situation, but he was willing to destroy it for the information. Anyway, it was an Continental IO-550 or a -520 that normally uses 8 to 10 quarts in the sump. He ran it on 2. He ran it hard. Not only did the engine not self-destruct, he didn't even see an increase in oil temperature.
