(and no, I can't understand how anybody can get wild and cheer and shout
only because of seeing an elected [read: doing my job] politician; and this has nothing to do with Bush.) It's an odd thing, I'll agree. In America, the President is supposed to be "just another guy" -- but in reality, he's our King, our Leader, and, in truth, the most powerful man in the world. When he's around, the trappings and evidence of power are everywhere -- and the thrill is quite palpable.
