How do I check weather while flying in Canada? Is there a 800-WX-BRIEF in Canada? Where do I file my domestic Canadian flight plans? The AOPA packet didn't include any of this information. Go he http://www.weatheroffice.ec.gc.ca/canada_e.html read local, then select aviation/metars/tafs, satellite/upper winds/whatever you want. It is THE Canadian aviation weather site Actually, the link above just winds up going here anyway: http://www.flightplanning.navcanada.ca/ .... so you can save a step and go there directly! Also, the FAA/NOAA ADDS site (http://adds.aviationweather.noaa.gov/) can retrieve Canadian & international METARs & TAFs, if you know the airport code. They even provide a huge list of worldwide wx reporting stations, so you can look the codes up. Pretty cool, actually. I do like the fact that Nav Canada give you both the TAFs & METARs on the same page, though. Makes comparing & checking the forecasts w/ actual wx easier! Brian. |
