That seems to be par for the course this year. On Xmas night, I was amazed
to see reports of gusts in excess of 100 mph at many locations in Southern CA.
These fronts seem to be unusually strong this year.

So much for the weather gods' prediction that the Southwest was going to
have an unusually dry and mild winter because of "La Nina" cooling the
Pacific waters. It's been the exact opposite. Wettest and windiest winter
in 5 yrs.
