More SeeYou Mobile questions... by
[email protected]
I've been replaying some flights (recorded by my 302) on my PDA to get
to know SeeYou Mobile. I plan on flying with it next season and want
to be already familiar come spring. I decided to see what the thermal
assistant is all about. It doesn't seem to make much sense to me. I
know that the larger...

Statistics on Post - Soaring into the future - high interest by
DNewill
I was glad to see the significant interest in the subject -
So far in 3 days, 50 posts by 17 contributers! What a neat subject for a
convention meeting where there would be pizza, beer, cokes, white boards and
note pads. - Invite the current OEM's and the want-to-be's and let them
listen to the...

Pilot Killed in South Africa by
Clint
Pieter Janse van Rensburg was tragically killed in an ASW 20 at the
Goldfields Gliding Club in South Aftica. The investigation into what
happened is ongoing. He will be sorely missed as a friend as well as a
fantastic young pilot and gliding instructor. He leaves his wife,
Annelise, and 7yr old...

Gliding GP - terrific! by
Dan G
I've just finished watching the final day's live coverage and I must
say it was terrific. The air-to-air and in-cockpit shots all worked as
advertised and the 3D graphics were very good, whether it was watching
Kawa in his Diana 2 creeping away from his rivals on the last leg to
win overall or...

Replacement for DAFIF Airspace Data by
2KA
All,
I've just embarked on a project to extract US (CONUS) airspace data
from the FAA National Airspace System Resource files and process it
into more accessible formats (such as OpenAir and Tim Newport-Peace).
This is a little more complicated than it sounds, because the NASR
uses ESRI shapefile...

Soaring Christmas 1995 by
Roy Clark, \B6\
Found this on an old disk - remember them ?
Posting again - yes, I know, your favorite glider is not there.
1995 Soaring Pilot's Holiday Tree
'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;
The stockings were hung by the chimney with...

Flown L/D vs. Required L/D to complete the task. by
AK
If your software has it how much are you using this feature? Do you
tend to use it more than traditional MC/ballast/bugs settings for
final glide calculation? I am suspicious of usefulness of this feature
in fast changing conditions. What is your experience?

SeeYou mobile and bugs setting via B50, does it work? by
AK
If you have any experiance please let me know. I am looking at the
software, but I have seen a post on naviter forum stating this feature
does not work.
I placed an e-mail to naviter, but I would like to hear from others.

Blistering of Finish by
Uniform Zulu
I'm looking at purchasing an LS-3 but the owner has
noted that the Urethane finish has blistered in several
places on the tops of the wings (The glider was re-finished
in 1996). According to the owner they are very small
blisters which have left pin sized holes. I'm assuming
that this would be...

LS3-A water bags by
[email protected]
I want to remove the water bags in my LS3-A and check them for leaks.
The only hole I see at the wingtip is a 3/8 hole located on the bottom
about 2 or three inches from the tip. How do I get the bag out
without ruining the ability to get it back in?
Also, the seat belts have been in the ship...

New gliding online directory by
Dan G
I'm not in any way associated with this site - it's based in the
Netherlands as far as I can tell - but someone really has put a lot of
effort into this:
http://gliding.start4all.com/
Nicely laid out and more gliding-related links than I've ever seen.
Quite a lot explore.
