McCauley propeller by
lrmt
Hi,
I have a neighbor who's got a McCauley twin blade propeller in his basement.
The thing is in fairly good condition and he was wondering if it is worth
anything. Can anyone help?
Thanks for the help!

I can understand why.
My airplane's at BFM, fueled up and ready to go, with a fresh annual.

Mooney Electric Trim Problem by
[email protected]
Perhaps someone here can suggest where to start looking for this
problem:
Ocassionally, the electric trim on my '78 Mooney 201 will stop working
for "nose up". When I press the button and push forward the trim will
run nose down, buy the other way - nothing. While I have the button
pressed, the...

Thinking about an aircraft partnership by
Mark Hansen
I'm thinking about getting into an airplane partnership (or co-ownership)
and have a few questions.
When people say that you can't really save money with ownership over
renting, does that include partnerships as well? I would think that
with a 4-way partnership, the operating costs would be...

Aircraft Financing by
[email protected]
I'm debating the purchase of a plane and I was wondering what the
current rates are that anyone has gotten for financing on an aircraft
for a loan amount of $50-60K for either a 5, 7, or 10 year term. I know
that AOPA can quote this, and I'll be calling them tomorrow during
business hours. However...

A Piper Cherokee 140... good first plane? by
Cecil Chapman
I'm beginning the process of looking for my own plane and have heard lots of
advice. Most have advised against getting something like a Cherokee 140 and
opt instead for something like a Cessna 172 or a Cherokee 180. Now, most
172 N's that I've flown have a 160 HP engine. It is my understanding...

How GA can help after Katrina by
George Patterson
Doug posted this over in RAP. I figured it might do some good in this group too.

I've been working on organizing a few relief flights and have learned some
things. In spite of AOPA tell GA to stay out of the way, there is a big
need for transporting people...

Cherokee alternator bracket replacement by
[email protected]
Hey all... My Cherokee is almost done with the annual, but in the 75 hours
since it was last inspected, the alternator bracket has cracked. It's complicated by
the fact that the plane was originally a PA28-140, but now has a Lycoming O-360-A3A.
So, the parts book doesn't necessary literally apply....

A title problem, but I want to buy. How handle? by
Michael Horowitz
I located a plane I'd like to buy; unfortunately somewhere along the
way the FAA didn't get some paperwork and the current owner didn't get
clear title.
Is there anything I can do to 'buy' the a/c and start working on it,
or do I have to sit on my hands? - Mike

Well, having to do a bunch of cross country flying moving grandchildren
around, 20 hours over two weeks, means I had to put in 100LL at
whatever backwater airport I happened to be at, instead of the cheap
nasty mogas I usually burn... Of course, starting up on a remote

Which airplane? by
Ghazan Haider
I've been browsing various aircraft for ownership and cant decide. It
must easily carry 2 people with some baggage at least 600km at the
minimum cost. IFR is preferable. Engine OH costs should be minimal.
Speed/looks/noise are non-issues. Must be all-metal however.
I've seen the zenith kit...

Quick Question about Sporty's Air-Scan V by
elationaviation
Hey Everyone,
I just purchased one of the famed Sporty's Air-Scan V scanners.
Needless to say, I love it. However, there's one quirk. I live in the
boondocks of upstate New York, so the reception isn't all that good.
Now, the reason why I posted is because I'm wondering if anyone out
there has...

More on CHT probe replacement by
Jim Burns
I've been researching how to replace an old AC Spark Plug CHT probe in our

probe operates at a different resistance range requiring the gauge to be
removed, shipped out and recalibrated. Not a fun proposition.
Rumor, and a...

Flying into CYUL (Montreal) questions by
Doodybutch
I am flying into CYUL (Montreal, QC Canada) on Sunday 9/4 from the USA.
I have a couple of questions:
1) How GA friendly are they with landing fees, etc.? I don't plan on buying
fuel.
2) Is customs available 24/7 or do I have to pay an extra fee since this is
a holiday weekend and a Sunday?

Turbo Lance empty weight by

I finally find one I really like only to find out that the empty weight is

The book lists the Turbo Lance at just under 2100lbs.
The panel is pretty much standard plus a Garmin 530 with a few other mods,
but I can't understand where the...
