BD-4 Landing Gear Rubbers by
smjmitchell
I have what I hope is a simple question on the BD-4 landing gear.
On my BD-4 plans the rudder donuts that are called out for the main and nose
gears are identified as a Lord Mount (J-11968-5). There is three of these
required for each aircraft, one for each leg.
My question is can you still buy...

How Many Pilots in the World? by
Dude
I have a database, which I will gladly sell you, for all these pilots.
Please send ME a private email, as I am too important to monitor web sites.
Dude.
PS I would never put my email on a NG, and you are going to find out why
soon...

Merry Christmas to all by
[email protected]
Here's a joke for you that I got from another thread,
The Public Works Minister of a former French colony in Central Africa
is in
France in an official visit.
He is invited for a dinner at the private house of his French
counterpart.
When he reaches the place, he can't refrain to say:
- My...

"bush flying" in the suburbs? by
[email protected]
Among other aircraft I've been looking at the Zenith Air STOL CH 801
lately, which attracted my attention purely as an inexpensive and eaily
built plane to cart my family around. http://www.zenithair.com
But the advertised 390-ft fully-loaded ground roll got me fantasizing
about all the...

basic spar construction by
Dave Schneider
Can anyone suggest some home built construction sites where they show the
process of building a spar for a foam composite wing. I'm confused on how a
spar is built for a foam wing. It doesn't seem like the foam itself would
provide enough structure to provide a web. It would seem like you'd...

RST Engineering Comm attenna by
Mike Scovel
Hi,
My name is Mike Scovel. I am building a VariEze and am very interested
in using Jim Wiers RST Engineering antenna for my comm. However, I do
not how long it must be and just exactly how to fit it to my winglets.
A gentleman from WA is going to send me a sketch of how to fit it to...

Bonding fibreglass to aluminum by
pcoopy
Tom, I'm coming in here from left field but, I caught a picture of
your spacewalker on the Warner site and fell in love with the color
scheme. I am at present in the process of completing a 1/3 scale RC
model of your aircraft. I can enter it in RC scale contests if I can
show that the subject...

Mogas for an O-320 with 160 HP? by
jls
Just wondering what the collective experience is, if any. I know of
several people with the 160 HP O-320 using mogas, but they're careful about
vapor lock in summer. Used in experimental aircraft, of course, not in a
certified aircraft. Keep in mind too that the CR is 8.5 to 1.
A friend wants...

Experimental/Exhibition by
Juan Jimenez
Is there anyone here who has gone through the process of getting an
airworthiness certificate for a homebuilt aircraft as an experimental,
exhibition in group IV? I'd like to compare notes with someone who has
already done it. I had no idea what was involved when I went into it. Heck
of a way to...

"Wing-in-ground-effect" Any homebuild kits available? by
Bob
Greetings,
I recall a few years ago several companies that were building
prototypes of ultralight sea-planes that flew in ground effect over
the water. They used fiberglass hulls and tube and fabric control
surfaces.
They were supposed to be classified as boats and not planes since they
were...

I just read a post by Stealth Pilot and wondered where he is. I tried
to post it but it bounced. Here's another try before I give up.
Hey Stealth:
Aren't you talking more about the Lancair IV-P ? I know one went in
from a spin this summer down under. BTW, where in Aus are you? I
just flew...

Rivets vs Welding by
David Findlay
I've not fully studied aircraft construction techniques so forgive me if the
answer to this is obvious. I've noted that most(if not all) aircraft made
with aluminium airframes seem to be riveted rather than welded. I'm not
sure about aircraft with composite or fibreglass skins so I won't...
