Looping a 2-33 by
Bob Pasker
I am NOT a 50+ year old wanting to take
lessons, and as such the lessons I get should be more tailored to
the type of experience *I* enjoy.
Loop the 2-33 all you want, i'm not gonna mother grundie you or your instructor
But I do take issue with the above statement that once you turn "50+" you...

Pegasus becomes Lazarus! (or "I'm not dead yet!") by
Mark628CA
I am holding in my hot little hand a letter from Jacqueline Jambor, a Manager with the FAA's Project Support Branch, ACE-112. It states that the FAA has accepted the request submitted by my friend and hangar partner, airshow pilot Bob Carlton, for a Global Alternate Method Of Compliance (AMOC) that...

FAA to use BMI to trigger screening for Sleep Apnea by
son_of_flubber
BMI (Body Mass Index) is a number calculated from your height and weight.
On the logic that pilots with BMI over 40 are likely to have Sleep Apnea and therefore more likely to fall asleep when piloting, the FAA is planning to require AMEs to use BMI to trigger evaluation for sleep apnea when...

[email protected]
I used to be able to download track files from my powerflarm rectangular butterfly display by inserting a usb, pressing the button and then pressing again on the "flarm" status and again on "log download" without turning the unit off. It no longer does this now I have to power off the unit insert...

Ugh. Flight trace didn't download off FLARM brick by
Kurt Thams
After a sweet flight, I get home to discover that the flight trace did not copy onto the USB stick.
Do I need to bring a computer with me to the airport to check each time before I leave the glider that the trace made it?

Tom,
You are right, publicity is an important "element" of an organization.
But I would ask you and others who contact their regional directors to
take it one step further. Publicity is one component of an
organization's marketing...

MIRRORGLAZE by
John Firth[_4_]
For year, I used to use mirrorglaze for my canopy,
almost every preflight.
Then it disappeared from local plastics supply.
Bought some online a year or two ago, used with good
results.
Yesterday, I squirted some on the PIK canopy and immediately
started polishing.
To my dismay some patches seemed...

DG-100 FAA AD 2009-20-04 Elevator Control Bearing Stand by
ContestID67[_2_]
This AD came out in the last few days and sent me into a tizzy. This
has to do with the elevator bearing stand breaking loose. All
applicable ships must grind off and replace the difficult to get at
fiberglass and metal stand by Jan 19, 2010. The part itself is 39
Euros (plus VAT and shipping,...
