I've been ordering a bunch of round tubing from Aircraft Spruce but the only square tubing they advertise has sharp corners. I need some 1" square tubing with rounded corners. The specs. are not critical beyond that; I'll try to work with what's available. Any pointers? Thank you.

Automotive alternators are sometimes installed on certified airplanes. Are automotive (or any other type) starters ever used on a certified engine. For instance, is there a Delco automotive equivalent to the starter on a C85? Thanks, Wallace

I'd like to read MIL-SPEC TT-P-1757, which talks about zinc chromate. GOOGLING for it, I see offers to /sell/ the document. Shouldn't that spec be available on-line somewhere? Second, I see offers for "Mil-Spec TT-P-1757 kit". What would the 'kit' consist of? - Mike

The remote switch wiring diagram for the Pointer ELT shows a lead running to the aircraft's 12V power supply. Why's that? The switch on the unit itself doesn't require a connection to the aircraft's power supply. TIA.

When referring to magneto rotation, do you look at the magneto from the drive end or harness end? I believe a RH rotating mag would be clockwise as you look at it from the drive end, but I'm not sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Heino
