I'm on a temporary job assignment in Stratford, ct and have been

Anybody know of a good place to hangar an aircraft in this part of the
country?
Haven't flown in a few months and having withdrawals at this point.
Might need to rent something,...

egt cht by
dave
I'd like to add an electronic six probe egt/cht to my bonanza. The
three usual candidates with similar products are
Electronics-international, JPI and Insight. Some have better features
than others but all do what I need. I don't need to save data for
future reference. Dynon and MGL...

GNS 480 Simulator by
dave
I'm looking at an airplane, Beech M35, that has a 480 already installed.
I downloaded the manual and the simulator. The simulator crashes. I
also noticed that it pushes my CPU up to 100% usage. My computer is a
newer 1.8GHz with more than 2G of ram. I can't find any instructions
on the...

Need help with fuel guage please! by
Dave
OK...a 1976 PA 28 151..
After a few minutes of running, the port guage will start to fall
towards E.
It is showing 3/4 now (fuel at tabs), and will sag to 1/4 within
about 15 min, while I am operating on the starboard (other) tank.
Shut down for a few hours, guage resumes normal (correct)...

Philadelphia by
dave
Laurent,
I'm based at Wings, LOM, just outside Philly. I waited almost a year to
get a hanger. It's not much of a hanger. Just a long building with no
doors and no walls between aircraft. I don't have to move any planes to
get my plane out and it keeps the sun and the rain off. For me,...

seeking residential airpark in NJ by
Dave
As far as I can tell, the only residential airpark in NJ is
Alexandria. But at Sun n' Fun in 2003, I was told that another was
being developed. So far, however, I haven't been able to find
anything on it. Does anyone know of other airparks in NJ?

Cirrus Airframe Life Limits by
Dave
I read a few posts referring to the FAA certificated life limit of the
cirrus airframes and couldn't believe my eyes. So, i did some
searching and here's what I found:
SR20 (approved 10/23/98) - airframe life limit 12,000 hours
SR22 (approved 11/30/00) - airframe life limit 4,350 hours
It's...

STec-30 doesn't pass startup test after I shorted something.... by
Dave
Okay, I screwed up. I was relocating the 3 panel switches for my STEC
30. The main power on/off, the nav 1/nav 2 and the alt. hold push
button.
When I relocated them and powered up, the self test succeeded and I
heard the servos testing themselves. But then one of the insulators
covering a lead...

replacing plastic panel overlay w/aluminum by
Dave
I want to make my own aluminum overlays to simply replace the plastic
in my Piper Cherokee. I've been told over and over that this is
cosmetic, non-structural and therefore legal without an approved 337.
The only thing is that on the middle and lower strip of instruments
(fuel guages, RPM, etc.)...

Can vacuum AI be removed if a certified electric one is installed?? by
Dave
I had an interesting discussion with other pilots about converting my
Piper Cherokee 6 to all electric. This would basically require
replacing the AI and DG with electric AI and elec. HSI. So, then,
there would be no use for vacuum pump. But, one pilot said that the
certified elec. AI only...

ARC cessna transponder information wanted by
dave
i'm working on a plane and his RT459A transponder is not working properly.
I would suspect that it may be cheaper to replace than to fix it.
Are all the ARC transponders interchangeable?
If not, which ones are/aren't?
Are there any replacement transponders that will fit the tray?
Thanks
Dave
