Piper cub J3 parts needed by
Mathieu Dewavrin
Hello
A friend of mine is currently building his own Piper Cun J3 from Wag
Aero blueprints.
He needs the exact dimensions of the compressions tubes found in the
wing of this model.
Does anybody have blueprints of this wing with a 3/4 view in order to
see the exact dimensions of these parts ?

WTB: VW Parts for Homebuilt Airplane by
Alan C. Lail
I am in need of Type I VW parts for my WW1, replicate airplane.
Exhaust system -- prefer a 2 to 1 system, but a good 4 to 1 would work
equally well for my application
Intake system -- to fit a Zenith Carb
Reduction drive -- prefer a Valley Redrive 1.6 to 1 -- will entertain any
others
Thanks
Alan

Camloc Installation Tools by
jls
Anybody ever made any of these? The pliers would be easy to make. The
drill jig is $475, the dimpling tools about $300 apiece, and the lockwasher
tool $100. Anybody ever make any of these, or are they patented? If they
are patented, maybe that explains the exorbitant prices.
I made and...

composites vs. aluminum by

I know this gets talked about all the time...but I have aquestion I was
hoping someone smarter than me could help me with.
An aluminum evangelist showed me this link:

The author asserts that:

SoCal hangar space? by
nauga
Does anyone know of any hangar space
available *anywhere* in Southern California?
I'll be moving my RV-4 out there sometime
around July. Prefer on or near SNA,
but I don't think I can be too picky.

I hate people who offer crap to the market that kills people too, like
helicopters built with K-mart parts.
Just an afterthought.

1/2 VW and a shrouded/ducted propeller? by
BllFs6
Hi all...
was sketching out a plane this weekend (just for kicks, nutin serious, just
playing with numbers for the fun of it)...
And no matter how I sliced it, I kept coming up with needing 35 to 40 hp and a
4 cycle at that....well, the only thing I know of that fits that bill without a
lot of...

Non Chromate Anti Corrosion and Paint Prep X-it Prekote? by
All Thumbs
I want to treat my aluminum parts for anti corrosion and paint. I am
reluctant to use etch and alodine because of the disposal problem. I
ran across a product called Prekote made by Pantheon chemicals. It
may have been called X-it before that. It is non-toxic and
non-hazardous. The Air Force is...

DIY DF device by
John
Like Jim's system most of these DF units do not depend on modulation modes
they use doppler effect and electronically rotate the antenna.
Popular Electronics a few years back had a DIY article to built a df unit.
They used a 16 bit counter and used its output to diode switch pairs of
antenna to get...

Rec.Aviation "Rogue's Gallery" of aircraft photos update by

For learning about flying and aircraft, there's no place like Usenet --
specifically the "Rec.Aviation.Piloting", "Rec.Homebuilt", and
"Rec.Aviation.Owning" newsgroups. These forums attract hundreds
(thousands?) of aviation enthusiasts each day, and represent a depth and
breadth of knowledge that...

Flying wing vs tailless airplane by
BernadetteTS
What is the difference between a flying wing and a tailless airplane? Is
there a difference? Just wondering after reading the post about the
monarch glider a few weeks ago. Where would an ME-163 be classified.
Does an F-106 or B-58 delta wing count as a tailless airplane?
Thanks
Bernadette

What's wrong with this engine? by
Fred the Red Shirt
I was perusing some lists of Ultralight engines and noted that
the Limbach 275 was listed as 20 - 25 hp and 17 lb. I figured
that was a typo, since it was less than half of the weight of
other engines of comporable power--more likely it was 17 hp at
20 - 25 lb, still good stats. But I've seen it...

Future of Glass Goose? by

The future of the Glass Goose is in doubt. I e-mailed Tom Scott about seeing
the GG while I was in Dallas but it seems he is having health issues & ready
to retire. I sure hope he finds a buyer to keep production going. The GG is
really in a class of its own; it really deserves to be the amphibian...
