Question for Bob Gardner - Multiengine bank angle by
kevmor
I just finished reading the Jeppesen "flight discovery" series for
their Multiengine manual, and just started reading the ASA's The
Complete Multiengine pilot. I noticed in their book that they
mentioned several times that, for best performance, you don't need 5
degrees of bank that planes are...

Question for CFIs by
Casey Wilson
I was going to ask this question on R.A.Students but I think this is a
more appropriate forum.
After how many hours of dual do you expect the average person to be
ready to solo?
I understand that it is subjective. Not every person is ready to solo
at the same time. There are a number of...

Question for Newps or McNicholl or other ATC Pro by
Casey Wilson
Hi,
Can you tell me or point me to a reference for how many ATC personnel
are on the active rolls? I'm hoping for a number that includes towers,
centers, and approach and departure -- the boys and girls that talk to us
pilots, admin and beauracracy excluded.
Thanks,
Casey Wilson

Question for Pressurised Baron pilots by
DeltaDeltaDelta
I've been trying to find some info on this thing for quite a while now. I've
been to Raytheon's site and found specs for the normal Baron only. If some
of you do own the P version, could you please tell me what engines do they
have? Are they the regular IO-550s or are they turbocharged? And what...

Question for Reno Veterans by
Jay Honeck
Incredibly, it's looking like we might be able to make an attempt at flying
to Reno for the air races in September. We've got the grandma lined up,
we've got the staffing set up -- all we need now is the weather.
I've been looking at our fly-in options, and it's looking surprisingly
bleak. I...

Question for the Flight Physician by
Mortimer Schnerd, RN[_2_]
Is the FAA aware of a new anti-smoking drug called Chantix? More to the point,
do hey have an official position on it? For most of my career, we always used
Nicoderm patches on those inpatients who smoked... with very uneven results. I
have, within the last few months, become aware of Chantix...

Question for whirlybird drivers by

When reading performance specs for helicopters I see the terms IGE and
OGE. I understand they are in ground effect and out of ground effect,
but when the altitudes are given they don't make sense to me. I thought
ground effect was up to one-half the rotor span and anything above that
would be out...

Question on Aivdyne / Garmin Integrated Avionics Packages by

I'm trying to understand how capable the new breed of integrated

that although these systems are very capable, they don't have the
"mission capabilities" of a Proline 21. I.e., the Eclipse and Garmin
systems are ok for...

Question on AVGAS stored at the field by
Tman
For any of you who might know;
When the owner is storing Avgas at the local FBO, do they bear the price
exposure for swings in the market prices of the fuel they have in
inventory, up or down? Or does the supplier (e.g. Texaco, P66) provide
a hedge for the fuel in inventory.
E.g. let's say...
