Schreder Motorglider by
Twilite
Does anyone have any information on motorglider conversions for any of
the Schreder aircraft. I've heard of an HP-11 and HP-14 in Canada but I
can't get any information. - Pat

Spiral Dives Explanation. by
Sandy Stevenson
I've been looking for an expalantion of the aerodynamics of how an aircraft
gets into a spiral dive. Mostly I've found lots explanations of what the
signs
are and how to recover, but those are things I already know. I've gathered
that
it's related to lateral stability, and that the wings are not...

Problems with Becker by
[email protected]
I have a Becker 3201 radio in my glider that has a problem. With a
fully charged 14 V system I find that when I push the PTT switch the
display starts to blink and the radio then transmits a garbled buzzing
noise. A friend thinks that the flashing is a low power signal and
that the 24 year old...

300 Km Flights (Was Failed Instruments) by
Ray Lovinggood
Bill Daniels mentioned the cost of failed 300 km flights
due to instrument failure.
Well, I've flown our 'standard' 300 km route about
5 times now and I hope the fifth try 'brings home the
trophy'. But if The Badge Lady isn't satisfied with
my flight log or paperwork or whatever, I'll have a
good...

Nimbus 4 Accident by
Bill
I posted the message below on the thread, "Nimbus 4DT accident 31 July
2000 in Spain." I am posting it again for better visibility.
Stan Hall presented his analysis of the Nimbus-4DB accident in Minden,
NV, 1999. Stan's analysis is scary, to say the least.
The article, Probing for the Smoking...

O2 and Cypriot airliner crash by
[email protected]
In accounts of the crash of the Cypriot airliner in Greece, all I've
read say that loss of cabin pressure could not, by itself, incapacitate
the pilot. Yet, I was once told by an ATP that at 40k feet (admittedly
this plane was at 35k) O2 supply by itself will not suffice to keep you
conscious and...

Metric Instruments? by
AFSax
I'm trying to do my homework on importing a glider from Germany to the
U.S. Shipping and registration issues shouldn't be a problem, but I'm
curious about the flight instruments. Can I use the metric instruments
in the states? I'm kind of used to metric instruments and I think that
when doing...

2005 1-26 contest by
norm
Members of the 1-26 Association......
In many sports and contests among people rules are made and they are
followed. We see controversy every day among athletes. Awards are
earned and they are presented. We have a championship each year among
the 1-26 pilots and it is a fun, spirited contest but...

SZD59 compared to Fox and Swift by
Some
Dear all,
I consider to buy a SZD59 for aerobatic purpose.
I would like to hear opinions from people how knows the glider. How
well does it perform compared to Fox and Swift? Is there figurs which
are especially difficult to achive in this glider? How well does it
handle in positive/negative...
