iPhone X and iGlide - the verdict is in. by
Andy Blackburn[_3_]
Thanks for this. OLED ought to be better in high brightness environments so it's reassuring that it is. It looked to me like Apple didn't set the max brightness on the iPhone X as high as I would have liked, but I could only experience it in the store.
Seems like one reflection problem is off the...

Any Lak 12 owner had cause to replace the factory pattern

How effective are dehumidifiers in unsealed trailers? by
Mark W
My syndicate are pondering an electrical hookup and dehumidifier for our trailer that's kept over winter at a site that's humid and cold (it's probably in cloud for 50% of the winter).
The trailer is an older metal trailer with unsealed doors and a rotating air vent.
I'm wondering how effective a...

Next glider, ownership costs question? by
flgliderpilot[_2_]
Low time pilot, 60hrs, have done some solo cross country flying but not a lot. Sold my 1-26E a few years ago (not by choice, business debt at the time).
My first thought is to jump into another 1-26 or 1-34 for a number of reasons (safety and availability). I could land my 1-26 just about...

CG Trimming after Tail Boom Repair by
[email protected]
A new weight and balance, after a tail boom repair, shows that several tens of pounds of trim weight needs to be added to a forward location in order to move the CG back into acceptable range. This fixes CG issue, but are there other concerns with doing this? Would be interested in experience of...

Glider cockpit size by

Even for smaller pilots, current cockpits are usually too snug.
I'm normal build and 5'10" so I have no trouble fitting in my Ventus 2cM, and its comfortable, but I can't move much and little stowage space. I always have more 'stuff' than places to stow it where I can reach it. There is space...

iCOM IC-A5 charger by
Charlie Papa[_2_]
I need the specs on the charger for the iCOM IC-A5 charger, - the output voltage and preferably a photo of the data plate on the charger.
I ordered a replacement for a lost one, but the otherwise very eager and accommodating folks at SMARTMEDIA US sent one with a 5.5mm plug (3.5mm seems to be the...

Cost to install a canopy? by
Roger Worden
Our club is looking into a new canopy for a Grob 103 Twin Astir. We received
an estimate from a well-known repair shop: $2,000 for the canopy and 50
hours of labor to install. I'm new to this field - I fly 'em, I don't fix
'em. But I'm having a hard time imagining what steps must be involved...

Vintage Pfieffer trailers? by
[email protected]
To anyone whom can help,
I just acquired a DG101g a few weeks ago, and when the a-hole left, he did not give me the keys. When asked he said he put them in the front of the trailer, but nothing there, and claims they are not in his pockets.
So after looking at the glider, I closed the back door...

K6 BT Bluetooth adapter opinions by
Mark W
Hi all,
Does anyone have first hand experience of using a K6 BT adapter (http://www.k6-team.de/index.php?a=165) with a vario such as a Cambridge 302 and nav software like XCSoar?
I'm wondering if there is a noticeable benefit to using the vario's data streams versus a nav device's inbuilt...
