If so I will be in Anchorage, AK Friday afternoon! Departing PAMR Saturday I (re)learned this today: (#1) http://tinyurl.com/2qpava (same link as below) Explanation of Alaska's identifier system: "Please note that for identifier changes in the conterminous 48 states, the ICAO identifier merely prefixes a "K" in front of the new 3-letter site identifier. For Alaska sites, a "PA" is prefixed which means that one of the 3 letters of the site identifier is truncated. Hawaii sites will have a prefix of "PH" added and Guam will have a prefix of "PG" added. Like the Alaska sites, the Hawaii "PH" or Guam "PG" prefixes will mean one of the 3-letters in the identifier may have been truncated." (#2) http://www.airnav.com/airport/PAMR AirNav for (PAMR) Merrill Field Airport Anchorage, Alaska, USA FAA Identifier is (MRI) (#3) http://www.alaska.faa.gov/enaafss/ak-idents.htm Alaskan identifiers: (Four and three letter examples of the same airports) (#1 ....long link) http://metar.noaa.gov/table_master.jsp?sub_menu=yes&show=text_site_ident ifiers.jsp&title=title_site_identifiers Explanation of Alaska's identifier system. For example, Wasilla is IYS or PAWS. |
