Displaywindow for KY197 by
[email protected]
Any one know where I can find the display window for a KY-197 at a
reasonable price? Some where in the past some kind soul cleaned the
front of my KY-197 with a solvent. It was bad when I bought the
plane, but at least I could read the display, but now it has reached
the point where the display is...

Garmin GNC 250XL by
Stuart & Kathryn Fields
I just went thru some wiring on an installation of a Garmin 250XL
electronics device. Somewhere in there is a comm, nav, display, data entry
device and I think there is a roll of toilet paper in there somewhere. If
this thing can do all that the manuals say, you better not try it in...

Oshkosh 2008 Photos by
John[_9_]
Maybe I am spoiled. I keep expecting that in this modern age there
will be plenty of photos of an event like AirVenture even while it is
ongoing. The official EAA site is top heavy with photos of mechanical
bulls, past prime rock n' roll acts, and photos of the people that
make AirVenture what it...

Are washers necessary? by
Lou
I'm building a wood and fabric plane that uses plenty of aluminum
fittings and
hinges. If I have an aluminum block on one side of a spar made of wood
and the aluminum hinge on the other, with a bolt going through, is
there
any reason for washers? It's not that I wouldn't use them, but it
helps...

Drilling out old rivets questions? by
Fonz
G'Day all.
I have a Cessna 310L cockpit which I will be converting to a simulator.
I wish for it to stay as authentic as possible, including method of
construction and cosmetics.
As such I have to repair/replace and modify some aluminium panels.
My question:
What is the best way to remove solid...

Harbor Freight Support group by
[email protected]
I have been considering starting a support group for people with a
likewise addiction to my own. The day Harbor Freight moved into my
town, my life was changed. It was easy to avoid it when it was online.
I know other stores have impulse items by the checkout, but this damn
place is filled with...

Shrinking inner sleeve by
Michael Horowitz
A splice by inner sleeve requires an inner tube with an OD just under
the ID of the original tubing.
I've been splitting the tube, removing a 5/16 lengthwise piece and
then squeezing the tubing in a vice, trying to keep it round. I'm
running a bead along the seam, then grinding it down. Finally, I...

Refinishing a Wood Prop by
Kyle Boatright
I've noticed that my prop is beginning to show signs of wear -chips in the
leading edge, and cracks in the clear finish. Given that I'm having shoulder
surgery in a couple of weeks (and probably won't be up to flying until the
arm is substantially healed), I should have some time on my hands to...

Hangers for Experimentals by
steveukman
I have an opportunity to purchase some land with access to a grass
airstrip - this could be a dream come true.
Does anybody have recommendations for hanger companies to talk to (or
experience using general contractors to build this type of
structure). If there are companies that work with us...

Aeronca 11AC Chief Project FS by
Victor Bravo
Aeronca 11AC Chief groundloop project just received. Have flying
Taylorcraft so this is surplus to my needs. Groundlooped, but welding
is 90+% done already. Fabric removed. Needs engine, struts, possibly
spars. Some paperwork is there, but it is pretty light. Have good bill
of sale, no ownership...

The Wright motor for the job - WAS: 13 horsepower by

Veedub:
Usually I defer to your great wealth of knowledge about all things
that fly. But in this case, I feel the need to point out a few
corrections to your statements about the 1903 Wright motor, per my
last reading of "The Papers of Wilbur & Orville Wright" (complied from
letters and field...

Air tools fro Australia by
Fonz
Good Morning all.
I'm in Australia and homebuilding is nothing like in the States, so
resources become a problem.
Anyway, I need a rivet gun and a few other tools for aproject, and was
wondering if anyone had information on Airtools, and other tools for
Australia. At this stage it looks like...
