Minimum Instruments Required? by
John A. Landry
Greetings all,
I know this must've been discussed here before, but I couldn't find anything
definitive one way or the other when searching with Google.
A friend who's starting an amateur-built experimental aircraft project
recently emailed me to ask if there's a list of the *minimum*...

Off The Wall Questions!!!!!!!!!!!! by
COLIN LAMB
Hey, I was the kid that aksed questions in school that made the teacher
wonder if they were in the right class so here goes:
1. If I built a large domed building, could I fly my helicopter inside
without a helicopter license? I know there is some debate about needing a
pilot license if you do...

Engine exceeds TBO by
Michael Horowitz
I have a lead on a Tcraft with an A-65 engine that has exceeded
recommended TBO. It is my understanding the compression is still good.
How should I approach this engine ( i.e. just assume everything over
1800 hours was a freebee and there is no guarantee it's not about to
poop out)? - Mike

Welding question by
Michael Horowitz
For those new to this saga, I'm practicing welding. No , I never
expect to approach an a/c, but I'd like to learn to apply a patch, do
a splint, etc. IAW 43.13.
I took some mild steel (.037) and bent it, then straightened it (cold)
as shown in the EAA 'Aircraft Welding' book.
Question: when the...

Folding wing for Ercoupes? by
Montblack
Fix the high cost High Cost of Sportplanes
"Any mass produced successful sport aircraft today ought to have
folding wings, whether it's trailered or if it goes in a community
hanger. There is a folding wing mod for the venerable Ercoupe (it's
STC'd or their equivalent in Canada, I'm not sure...

A friend of mine has the new Jabiru 6 cylinder engine in his home built
with ~100 hours on it. He says that every 25 hrs, he has to adjust the
valves. At his 100 hour, he has to do a differential pressure test.
After helping him with his pressure test,...

H2 Combustion-Booster Claimed by
[email protected]
Here's one I just read:
http://www.canada.com/montreal/montrealgazette/news/story.html?id=cfe...
Some fellow is claiming he has a small device that will boost
combustion efficiency and save drivers lots of money, while reducing
emissions.
Obviously, plenty of claims have been made before, so I'm...

Got a little cocky and decided to try a patch on tubing. With a
rosette weld as well as along the edges.
Well, I chased that hole all over the patch! burning it and filling
and burning and filling! The patch obviously getting hotter than...

What makes a quality mic? by
John T
What makes a quality microphone in a headset? somethat that doesn't pick
up the cockpit noise, but still transmits your voice clearly?
I've got a project in mind that would require such a microphone. I
thought of using the parts from a reconditioned headset, but I'd like to
get some...
